It rained real heavy during the Friday prayers. In fact, it was so long that it went almost close to a flood. Not even the large drains around my grandma's house could stop it. Thank God the rain decreased while we had lunch.

After my Math class, I went down and saw Yean in blue baju kurong. Currently she's waiting for her O-lvl results next week, but I told her "Even if you do get enough Os, you still have to wait after the holidays, bwhahaha"

There was a meeting for the Interhouse competition where the teacher's briefed us for the upcoming Cross country event. Also there was the appointment of the new captain of the Wijaya (green) house.

I volunteered among the 5 people appointed. Obviously we had to speak some 'inspiring' words to get elected. The boy before me only got a few responses and when it was the same during my turn. I thought it was boring so to spice things up I grabbed the microphone and said, "Make me your captain and I'll give you victory!". The crowd erupted then I repeated this time with the same roar when I played rugby. I wasn't a student representative up there, but a Rugby captain.

So yes, I got elected to become captain of Wijaya and of course, I had to say some more inspiring words.
I said "Look at Mahkota behind you. Do you see them? There are only girls!" and the crowd applauded.

Tried out the internet phone call with Kaka in Japan. As soon as the phone connected, I said this in monotone:

"Sorry the number you have dialed is unreasonable, please don't try again later."
"Harap maaf, nombor yang awda dail tidak dipeduli. Sila jangan cuba lagi."

hahaha.

The Fast and Furious Sixers

24-12.
Another win.

The game was 13-a side with 20 minute halves (a 40-minute game) due to the absence of flankers in the opposition. We were also massively missing some key players, and rumors of our ace quitting the Rugby team. We all had to ensure ourselves that we cannot depend on one player and that rugby should be hard fought as a team. So we did.

The game was difficult and the first try came from Awang Semaun after some clumsy movements. However, as time progresses our playing improved to the same flame we had against JIS. We pulled through and gave Coach Ben what he wanted: 3 out of 4 tries to ensure our victory.

I was able to play for the first and last quarter, and saved the team from giving the opposition another chance to try in the latter. He was a man of my size crashing through again and again and I had to tackle him from behind if we were to keep our 3 tries intact. Whether that tackle was a game saver or not, the moment the game ended I was cheered for it.

Though the forwards were endlessly crashing towards the try line, it was the backs that played the best performance. With Aneq, Azri, Azizi, and Andy running through like there is no tomorrow, it was definitely the best play from the same people we were afraid to fail. They were golden gods on that field. Even Aneq, a beginner in Rugby and a body that normally wouldn’t fit to the Rugby player image, came in with a bloody arm crying out, “GET A BANDAGE! I WANT TO PLAY!” I would have given Aneq ‘the man of the match’, but everyone had done so well.

In the last few minutes, the Sixers crashed endlessly for a chance for a fourth try in an amazing display of teamwork. The ball was lost and Awang Semaun almost ran off with the ball if it had not for our defense and some clumsy ball handling. Before we knew it, the whistle is blown before the next scrum and the game has ended.

Yeah, I was teary eyed when we won again. The game was difficult and we were missing players with very little substitutes to play. It was definitely hard fought and a really intense game. After that Coach Ben said, “You know what I like about you guys? You like to listen. You listen real well. I asked you for 3 tries and you gave me 3 tries. I can see National Rugby players in all of you.” And this came from the National Rugby team coach himself, a really great honor. Tournament ended for us with our normal cheer: “Sixers on three”

After the game, I went up to the guy I tackled in the last quarter, and told him, “See? I did promise I’ll get you back for that tackle last year”.

Sixers vs SM Awang Semaun

7th March, Friday. Another battle between PTEB and Awang Semaun, this time we battle under the Sixer flag.

This will be the final tournament game for the Sixers, a perfect opportunity to prove to Awg Semaun our team will not be the same team ever again.

Watch the Maroon Sixers go against the Golden Awg Semaun in an intensifying game to battle for superiority in the tournament.

Sixers, the last game was awesome. With that display of aggression, we will surely win again.

Kickoff will be at 9am. Kick ass, Sixers. Believe in victory.

A JIS win, but best game yet.

Listening to 'Emergency' by Paramore. The hard rock playing in my ears brought my hopes up.

Since the JIS game has been moved to today (plus in JIS grounds!), we have been anticipating. Some of us wondered "Are these guys really big?" "This game must be hard".

Some reassurance that this is a game we haven't tried. Never fear the enemy before the war.

The thought of our previous teammates are playing against us and the fact that they are from the U20 National Squad team fazed us only a fraction. So again, we have to believe that we will go through this game with high hopes.

The field is smaller than the Berakas Camp field we use. But when you consider the half-empty/half-full cup logic, smaller field means more contact. And yes, there were many tackles. I never had a game this intense before.

People push each other like crazy. The experienced players JIS kept crashing through our defenses but too much dependancy on the backs to score their tries. With Izzat on the JIS side, we knew that this game will be the most tiresome due to his ability to control game pressure. Aniq and Azizi however, despite their limited experience, rivalled Izzat's and Fifi's playing.

Losing did not get us down. Their 2 tries overpowered us but our single try came from Slim, who cracked some heads with his massive body weight.

It was Slim after all, who became the man of the match.

The match will be held in Jerudong International School. The Sixers will be leaving PTEB around 2.30pm

Support the Sixers either by coming to watch our match around 3pm, or just wish us luck before we leave.

Mr Kendrew's GP lesson

Watching Iron Jawed Angels for GP class (our current topic is "feminism".) It's about two women leading a movement to earn rights for voting in 1912 so that women can be more equal.

I like the film because Hilary Swank is present in the film. Just to remind you, my favourite film is Million Dollar Baby (the one that gave her the second Oscar) and her acting is still superb.

Since we started GP early this year, we have gone through topics such as Drug Abuse to the quality of life to the health system. And along the way, we would watch films to help make our understanding a little better.

Why I posted these pictures is because I haven't posted much lately, plus I want to show you people what our language lab looks like.
