Squirrels

An interesting song about Squirrels. It tries to justify how exterminating a squirrel species might save Great Britain. Also, it questions on certain aspects in animal cruelty. "Animal Cruelty at its best when it's justified by protecting other animals." I love it when people sing about Irony!

123: Squirrels
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGCtDC-BfhU

Here in Britain we have a little problem with our squirrels.

See we have these beautiful red coated natives
But the last 50 years these foreigners have come about
They're not red but grey and pale
And at the risk of sounding like the Daily Mail
We wanna get those foreign bastards out!

Now I don't wanna be un - PC
So I'll call them chromatically challenged.

But basically they're hardened squirrel thugs
They eat all the squirrel food, carry knives and do squirrel drugs.
They terrorise our little reds,
they won't be happy till they're all dead
So let's start turning the grey ones into rugs.

Now I know what you're thinking, does anybody really care?
It's not like we're talking about whales, lions or polar bears
Plus animals go extinct all the time
And just cos this one is in decline
What makes it more worth saving than all the other ones out there?

Well I'll tell you why, it's size:

An inch is the threshold for our protection
Anything smaller isn't worth affection,
Anything bigger is big enough to be saved.

Wasps can die out, no great loss,
Mosquitos, don't give a toss
But we're talking about mammal... With four limbs... And forward facing eyes... It could almost be a tiny little human!
And that's just cute.

Whether you think the greys should be killed to make way
Or if you believe that nature's decided the reds have had their day
One thing that is beyond a doubt
I just wrote what I was told to write about
I don't give a shit either way.

How am I doing?

Various things, honestly. I went on a movie craze and watched Pink Panther 2, Valkyrie and ,recently, The Punisher: Warzone. Seriously, The Punisher was a gorefest. Old and young, they all get their heads get blown off! But if you want ratings, here we go:

Valkyrie
(3 out of 5)
"I thought it'll be really cool to see Tom Cruise in an eyepatch though the acting was a bit dry. Good, but not so powerful. However, you might want to watch for the SUSPENSE! Great costume design by the way."

Pink Panther 2
(2 out of 5)
"I was watching Sgt Bilko and realised Steve Martin sounded catchy in a French accent. It was great comedy with a surprising end."

Punisher: War zone
(3.5 out of 5)
"Definitely better than the earlier Punisher film. I thank Marvel and other film companies for making these reboots now I can only pray they would atleast remake Ghost Rider. We got some unrelenting violence with 'mercy' missing in the vocabulary. Ray Stevenson is one cool badass!"

Candid shot from Zimo all of a sudden -_-

Ok, to start off, I got a job at a tuition school in Lambak. Now, I'm currently waiting for students. I'll be teaching English 'O' level, General Paper, and English Literature for A levels. The funny part though is I am only asking to teach Literature, that is until the adminstrator checked out my Certificates (Stares at English O lvl: B3, EngLit O lvl: A2, EAS: c, GP: a, EngLit A lvl: C).

And because I'm missing some test papers during the last big house cleanup, I had to do a GP essay and an English Comprehension. That was tiring! Well, anyway, now I have to wait for the call once they advertised the subjects. Phew.. now I'm in a run talking to my teachers. Even today, I was asking Mrs Joanne Bentley for tips ^^

Astro Boy

Tuesday, February 17, 2009
Why didn't I catch this! It's been around in the net all this time and missed the news of one great film! What film you might ask? A CG film of one of the greatest anime of all time, one that had entertained the children that became your parents. That's right Dad, they are bringing back Astro Boy.

I remember Dad would tell me stories when he was younger where children gather inside his house (because televisions were brand new in Brunei then) most of the time to catch Astro Boy. That being Dad's favorite cartoon, Astro Boy had left many in awe and excitement. Without Astro Boy, there wouldn't be mecha cartoons today. No Gundam, No Terminator, and No transformers.

Beautifully rendered CGI of the modern Astro Boy, unchanged from his classic look!

So it's up to you, can an Anime franchise still be popular at its transition to a US CGI animated film? Can the big name cast of Kristen Bell, Nicholas Cage, Bill Nighy, Donald Sutherland, and Freddie Highmore as Astro Boy himself, make this movie big? I say with the popularity of Anime still booming, the mecha genre never failing, your parent's favorite past times still vivid, and as a fanboy at heart, yes. It shall be ASTRONOMICAL!

The very blueprints drawn by the legendary Osamu Tezuka himself.

A classic pose that lasted years, Astro Boy soaring into the sky!

A powerful image of a cornered Astro Boy still in his pajamas. Fans know, they wouldn't stand a chance!

Patriotism

Got a cool flag for the car today. I think its a great idea to share the patriotism with flags on your car, just don't forget to wipe your windshields or they fall off while you're going 160km/h -_- I was wondering about the hold up next to centerpoint when I saw some people stop some cars and put up flags. I was excited! They did it with such effort that they even stood in the middle of the road and put up flags in every parking lot! Things like these really touch you (*sniffs*), I even went to get one personally. ^^

I am now temporarily promoted to "The Royal Family's Driver"...

...along with other people.

"We're not desperate for cash, sir. But if you like, this mini-flag is $2.50 (jk!)"

Why won't the wind blow!

Today my sister laughed when I told her I asked for the mini flag personally. Just after asking for it, someone from the other side of the road was also laughing, "Look at that boy! Now that's a patriot!"

Valentine's day

Saturday, February 14, 2009
Dedicated to Dee, my little cheesecake. Whom I finally asked to be my girlfriend after so long. It is my first time celebrating Valentine's Day with anyone and it was Dee who asked me out on that day. Well, it was special feeling close to somebody. We spent most of the afternoon watching Pink Panther 2 and going at it at the arcade. It was a triple date of course, with Dee's friends Teerah, Winnie, Lu and Jovan along. We even exchanged gifts. A cute frog to make fun of tradition for Dee and from Dee, a little pink bag with a delicious cheesecake.

As I promised, I posted this one. Dee likes this pic ^^

Big Daddy

Thursday, February 12, 2009
If I were to cosplay, Dee asked me, what do I want to be? You know, the thought of wearing a costume to imitate one of your favorite anime or videogame makes me nervous. Especially looking at one. I have to admit that the designs are worked hard on it's all because fans are so passionate about the character they portray.

However, despite rather being not seen in a get up, there is one character I'd like to play. Not an anime character, but a videogame character. One of my most favourite yet ^^

BIG DADDY!

I'm really into Bioshock now (and it's released like what.. two years ago?)and currently playing on Aira's computer (hehe). I found so much fun on fighting Big Daddies around Rapture and honestly, I think they are the most kickass enemies in videogame history.

Turns out there was already a costume made and instantly became a web sensation. Check out here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nathan_awesome/sets/72157602822524814/

Watchmen Premier : 2009 Resolution #1

Sunday, February 8, 2009
Watch Watchmen in its premier at midnight. Though the premier will be on the 6th of March, I'm already asking Fae and everyone a month in advance to join me. Diary organizer is checked and written in bold. Now I've said this too many times, Watchmen is very important to me and being a die hard fan of the Graphic Novel how can I miss it?

Watchmen - trailer #3 HD

Ok, I know it's kind of late for making new year resolutions. Let's say this is one of the few things I want to pull off this year. A midnight movie with friends and a movie I am going crazy anticipating. It's like when 300 came out, only this is bigger. Go update your calendars and mark 6th of March! Woohoo!

Prom Night

Prom Night was spectacular. I mean like people started complaining about the food and why does it have to be Asma Hotel but then you forget most of it once you start dancing. Once you get on that dance floor, with or without anyone, you can feel that this Prom is really special. Now anyone there tells you that they didn't have much fun, that's because they didn't join it. I mean the moshing and the raving and all your friends around you, why should it be no fun?

Romeo and Juliet of the evening: Minshara and Nawi

No, not empty. Packed!

Dibs announcing the winners ^^

Prom King and Prom Queen: Khairul and Amirah. Khairul wore the tiara all night.

I didn't get to win best dressed though T_T Thanks to Nadi for starting up the 'situation' and everyone who worked so hard to make it a big night. Great show Dan King and Dan Law. It's funny to see Fae, Ash, Yean, Zool and Keem today who are performing upstairs. Here's something I want to share:

"Life is not measure by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."

I Can Wait Forever

With eager anticipation, I'm looking forward to watching LaMB in Animax soon. The story where recycling criminals can make the world better got me hooked. It's like a question of morality. Now add super awesome action with fantastic visuals. I will definitely try catch it once it's premiered.

At first I got really nervous with Simple Plan getting a song in the anime but after listening to "I Can Wait Forever" I saw a big change from their earlier songs and well, I have some respect for those canadians. Apparently better than their *urgh* "Perfect" single. (Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_TJxL3nYgA)

I Can Wait Forever
Simple Plan

You look so beautiful today
When you're sitting there it's hard for me to look away
So I try to find the words that I could say
I know distance doesn't matter
But you feel so far away
And I can't lie
But everytime I leave my heart turns grey
And I, I wanna come back home to see your face tonight...

Cause I just can't take it
Another day without you with me
Is like a blade that cuts right through me
I can wait, I can wait forever
When you call my heart stops beating
When you're gone it won't stop bleeding
I can wait, I can wait forever...

You look so beautiful today
It's like everytime I turn around I see your face
The thing I miss the most is waking up next to you
When I look into your eyes, man, I wish that I could stay
And I can't lie, but everytime I leave my heart turns grey
And I, I wanna come back home to see your face tonight...

Cause I just can't take it
Another day without you with me
Is like a blade that cuts right through me
I can wait, I can wait.. I can wait forever
When you call my heart stops beating
When you're gone it won't stop bleeding
I can wait, I can wait.. I can wait forever...

I know it feels like forever
I guess thats just a price I've gotta pay
But when I come back home to feel your touch makes it better
'Til that day there's nothing else I can do

And I just can take it
(Just can't take it)
Another day without you with me
Is like a blade that cuts right through me
I can wait, I can wait.. I can wait forever
When you come my heart stops beating
When you're gone it won't stop bleeding
I can wait, I can wait.. I can wait forever...

I can wait forever
I can wait forever
I can wait forever
I can wait forever
I can wait forever...

Movie Mania Baby!

Tuesday, February 3, 2009
It's the Superbowl so there has to be some cool trailers. This year is amazing, we got a new Pixar flick, a second installment to the DaVinci Code and favourite TV past times! They all look amazing so I'm gonna put it up as a Top 5. Are you ready? GO!

5.
UP. A man pulls his house from its roots and into the skies with thousands of balloons! Now this is what you call Suspension of Disbelief ^^ (link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I789Pr5wLUc)

4.
Angels and Demons.
Tom Hanks returns as Robert Langdon in another conspiracy involving the Vatican Church. Ewan McGregor is also on film! Although it looks like a sequel than a prequel (I read the book), and Tom Hanks cut his hair, finally! (Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9TnRZ5_a9E)

3.
Star Trek.
Some fantastic visuals for the SciFi classic remake! It looked amazingly epic and the cast are like the younger selves of the original TV cast.(Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wXAFio-LLw)

2.
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.
Will you look at Destro and Baroness? This is definitely big explosive action! The TV theme song is still humming in my head and the way those ninjas crash through everything and dodge missles? WOW!(Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-p9yV1G-cKE)

1.
Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen.
More and more robot action and ready to kick ass! This one is pretty intense and there seems to be much larger robots! I can't wait to recognize which Transformer has finally appeared. Maybe the dinobots? (Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNTj_WPDqYM)

You know how crazy I am when it comes to the Summer film-fest! There is still Watchmen or Harry Potter but the numbers of cool films here will dry our wallets. So see you soon in the cinemas because I'll be there to catch the action!
