I just got back from the Belait Tens with Sunburn, Cuts and Bruises. Today, I got tackled real hard by Eazy. I remember giving him a nickname "The Iron Table" and I only just remembered after the impact.
Khai didn't see it would lead to a hospital pass, his back was turned around then without knowing Eazy had me marked and came for me. That split second, it felt everything went slow motion. Dizzy and shaking from the tackle, unaware of my surroundings.
I got up and tried to move even while winded before I was told to leave the field to be replaced by a sub.
Saffuan pulled me up really. He reminded me to always get up, that is what heart is. Once the game ended, I walked one round the arena thinking about the moments before the tackle and what I could have done. I got back to Saffuan after relaxing my thoughts and breaths.
Me: "Three guys tried to rip the ball off my hands just now, I didn't let go"
Saffuan: "Before, it was four guys."
Me: "It was five guys then!"
Thank you Saffuan for the support and always reminding me to remain head high.
Having to have survived the massive tackle got me some praise. Especially from Coach, "What I am most impressed is Ziggy. He got tackled real hard but was still playing." Even Cliff said, "If there was a player of the day, it would be Ziggy." And my heart lifted."
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the Belait Tens. Competing with and against my rugby brothers was a great honor. I've also greatly improved my own tackling skills this year. Thank you and Congratulations Pythons, BYOB, and Miri Rhinos. You guys remain awesome. I look forward for another scrum with Pythons and Rhinos, maybe someday.
The funniest I've heard today. LOL!
Me: *stating the obvious to Lim* "You know you get sunburn when your own sweat starts stinging your face"
Referee: *aside* "I think he meant it as a philosophical statement."
