I can't believe I took up drawing cartoons again. My still present habit of drawing caricatures still haven't faded away.
I'm going to continue my old project: creating a comic that doesn't focus on art, but on the storyline.
I got this urge to make one after reading this graphic novel called Blankets. A memoir on the main character's family, religion, sexuality, but overall; what it feels like to sleep next to someone for the first time.
Reading this story got me thinking on how real but yet cartoon about this story. It's a good read.
Sometime before that, I was already admiring these comic forms, such as the greatest graphic novel: Watchmen, then V for Vendetta and its political charged storyline, along with Adolf, a story of 3 boys named Adolf during World War 2. Very gripping storyline.
So I had this project on making a comic that focuses on the individual Bruneian, and the effect of westernisation in the country. When I have time, I'll post some sketches on this comic as soon as I can.
