Brunei Cyber Games

Another game tournament is coming up, this time it's the whole Brunei!

A Pro Evolution Soccer and Guitar Hero 3 tournament coming up.
But we're eye-ing the GH3 tournament (bwhaha).

Check out the website here for some detailed info Right Here!

After a day of Car-Hunting(check out last post), we decided to go to our favourite Videogame store EGM serusop branch. (I swear! We go there so many times, they know us!) and bought a guitar hero controller.

That's when mom said, "There is a tournament going on, you know. Sponsored by Baiduri Bank.."

Then we thought, of course. The Brunei Cyber Games.
And onviously, we're gonna join it!

So with the last registration date in 2nd and 3rd January, Zani and I endlessly practise our skills with our newly bought guitar!

Zani, surprisingly, is also eager to grab the cash prize.

Yes, me included..

But I got advantage due to my already-honed guitar skills (bwahaha)!

Here's the description of the GH3 tournament if you want it quick!

One of the most popular game in the country, Guitar Hero series have taken the country by storm and now Brunei Cyber Game proudly presents a sneak preview of what's to come in June 2008 with a mini Guitar Hero III tournament in January. Car Hunting

Fooled around with the Ford ST.

Not a big fan of cars yet. But I can only tell you that it's
1. Manual Drive
2. Goes to Six Speeds

Pretty sweet for racing.

Forgot to mention,
We Passed our Driving Theory. HOOHA! *throws confetti*

So before we can take the driving practical, the family went "Car-hunting" (what my mom calls it).

Didn't get any pics of the cars we checked out, but we went through Mitsubishi, then the Volkswagen (there was a sweet Beetle with a removable roof. And the steel was milky. Awesome.)

A third car for the family is one plan, and Zani and I might be getting the Nissan Patrol. Driving it to school and partying, here we come!

A Day in the Empire hotel

Friday, December 28, 2007
Mom got hold of tickets for a night in the Empire Hotel. It was awesome! Everything is so comfortable that even the Bathtub was sleep-able!

The sea was amazing...

When I came in the hotel, I was awestruck by the view of the lounge! Large windows with Sunlight pouring in, and the view of the sea stretching towards the sky...

West Atrium

As we go along the West atrium towards our room, I noticed that they placed alot of mirrors. And that as if the whole place is made of gold.

Mom, can I keep the bed! Mine now!

Entering our room, I remembered Dan saying how comfy the beds were. Even the whole room, Dan!

"Hmm, the bathtub's comfy. This is mine!"

Zani seems to be enjoying himself. I know, he's taking my sleeping space!

Bruneian Sunset is always blue and red

The scenery was absolutely breathtaking! Before we went to dinner, mom must have taken the picture of the beautiful sunset.
I love looking at sunsets. They are always undoubtful beauties!

The Dinner there was delicious with mom teaching us the basics of formal dinners. That way, I got to savor the juicy meat. And OMG they were so delicious I had to grab seconds!

After dinner we went to the Empire Cinema (how long has it been? It seemed as if the place got smaller. Maybe I got taller?) and watched I am Legend.

Will Smith has done some great acting here. The special effects were also exceptional.

Oh, did I mention a certain friend I found staying in the same hotel longer than us?

ILLY!

It was quite a surprise when I saw Illy who was staying in the hotel with her family. Looks like I'll be seeing her next year!

Another day in the mall

Tuesday, December 25, 2007
I'm pretty much out of topic on what to write about so, I'll write about another outing in the mall. (Along with Zani and my cousin, Hafiz)

Some of you might know that I like taking long walks in the mall. Usually I'd go from 3 to 7 hours in one outing.
What I really like is meeting some friends along the way.
You won't know who you'll meet. Can be old friends from Sunshine, or some familiar faces in SMJA, then the loveable bunch in SMR, and of course the people in PTEB.

I realised that I knew so many! As if I revolve around socialising.
Maybe because I love being friendly, and being a friend.

In any case, it's good to know people.

Who did I meet today?

Hanif: and his new hairstyle
Fakhrul: Going out to JP later that evening
Dibs: Who agrees we didn't finish much of our homework. (GAH! Mayor of Casterbridge!)
Those SMJA 3A dudes: Thinner than the last time we met them
Amal (not Arashi, tho I dun c y she has a weird nick): With her family
Firdaus: Still a badass (too bad you suck in DrumMania, bwhahaha)
Jazmi: Finally cut his hair
Dee: Surprisingly, out with a friend to watch AVP2 (Which sucked yet better than the first)
Izam: POTTER!
Ezat: He, too, haven't finished Mayor of Casterbridge
Dan: The Birthday boy, obviously having a great time with his girlfriend

Anyone I missed, don't worry. It'll come up.

Oh and Merry Christmas everybody.

Happy Birthday Dan!

Another Birthday Tribute to Danial Norjidi!
What does that make him.. 20 years old?

Well God bless Dan for being a great friend and an awesome musician!

I'm still stuck at that "I'm lookin back at you and you look straight to me, Just can't find the words and I'm wondering if you're thinking what I'm thinking coz I'm thinking of you, and all the things you do"

Congratulations

To Kaka Suci

Time grows so fast, it seemed like yesterday when we all played kites in Jerudong.
Then now you are married. God bless you.

Life can be so surprising.

Anarchy in the UK

By Anna Tsuchiya

From the NANA anime soundtrack.
A little pop-ish than the aggressive original. I don't know if its an insult or a tribute to the greatest punk rock band in history.

Here's a live version of the original Anarchy played by The Sex Pistols themselves in 1996.

Can you believe they only recorded one album? And yet, became Punk's biggest icons in rock history?

"I am an Anti-Christ
I am an Anarchist
Don't know what I want
But I know how to get it
I wanna destroy
Possibly

Cos I wanna be Anarchy
"

Awesome classic. Keeps me charged up all day.

In favour of Chinese Taipei.
The defense was to open but Brunei were able to get tighter as the game progresses.

The first score for Brunei goes to Izat, 3 points from a penalty kick. The crowd roars and the cheering spirit lifted again with whoever it was behind us made the Brunei Cheer.

"BRUNEI, HOO!"
Followed by a crash towards the tryline and the crowd fires up again!

Chinese Taipei may have won the game, but the Bruneians had their hearts captured by our team's spirit.

Though it's funny that the audience started booing when the Chinese Taipei Kicker missed his shot. Maybe we do like to add insult to injury.

Wish I could have seen some better playing. *sigh* Atleast the game was intense.

Kudos to the Brunei Nasional Team. And when its over, lets start all over again for next year's batch of matches and show how fiery we are.

Oh, Shuif and Fids was there.
And yes, Shuif. You get your pic in my blog as I promised.

Task of the Day

Going to watch U20 Rugby match with Brunei against Chinese Taipei.

4pm in Padang Balapan.

Let's cheer for our PTEB Teammates and the Brunei Nasional Team.

Good luck to T-rex, Azizi, and Cherry!

and to Rawi, Simon, those Knights dudes, Izat, Fifi (cool mohawk dude), Lob, and the other JIS dudes.

Show them how Badass we are.
Do your best!

The next game I wanna purchase:

Use drum beats along with a cute and catchy soundtrack to deliver warfare.
You control Lil Cute Eyeballs armed for battle and fight monsters and other armies.
I haven't got the plot yet, but the gameplay got me hooked. Check the video below.

From what I can tell, is that you have to fight these red dudes and destroy their fortresses. You bring along siege weapons, shoot volleys of arrows and fight enemies twice your size!

Well, more than twice your size. Look at the size of that crab!

Some really funky rhythm minigames!

It's like a clever combination of Cute and Violence with Epic fantasy in the mix! Add that with the Most Spectacular 2D graphics for a handheld, this might be the game that will match the popularity of Loco Roco! (Yes, the game looks kiddy but I like that idea where you take control of the planet and save little singing Jelly things, and can't fight, by tilting with the L and R buttons. But still a unique experience!)

Here's a video of the PATAPON Trailer. Don't be surprise on how kiddy-ish it is. Come on, who would make war game for kids?
O wait, I forgot about Narnia.
Looking at the vid, I'd say it'll be an enjoyable experience for Kids and Adults alike.
Can you believe that this game is targeted for girls? What are they, nuts?

*UPDATE*

Found another video which covers some of the story in Patapon. An intro to the game.

One upon a time,
The Patapon Ancients, by the power of Almighty's drum,
gained Wisdom, Courage, Strength, and Miracle.
The Patapon Ancients,
guided by Almighty,
ventured to Earthend, in search of IT.

For the
almighty Patapons, no foe was too mighty,
no treasure out of reach, and no
land unconquerable.
The Ancients fought bravely in the name of Almighty,
and spawned legends which lasted generations.

But today, the
Patapons are far from their former glory...

The Music Club Gala Night.

A pleasant farewell to our seniors.
We were lucky enough to celebrate without any outcry. We have made it safe and secure and did not cause any trouble of any kind.

With performances from Daniel, and a supergroup which include Fuad and Jeff.

Here's some pics for that night.

YEs, it was someone's birthday. Two people

And the birthday bunch

The Battle of Gaming

Thursday, December 13, 2007
In ongoing war between the Brothers of Destruction and some weirdo bunch of dudes, we battle on in Abu's house (his room specifically). There we go through a number of challenges.

Tekken 5
Soul calibur 3
Killzone
Guitar Hero 3

After being miserably OWNED by the dudes, I'm a proud to say we fought the good fight. Gamers go duke it out on each other is sure way to get the party started.

People Attending: Zani, Muiz, Fakhrul and myself.

Hanging out with Ash

Went to the mall with Ash yesterday.
After spending around 5 hours in the mall, we spent most of our time in Westreet then an hour playing pool.

Would have been interesting if we had a girl along *sigh*

Not much cash and enthusiasm to watch movies.
Wasn't all that boring.

"Atleast it's better than staying home. If we're desperate, we might actually have to do homework!"

Happy Birthday to Cherry!

Rugby Brother no.8. Do your best in the Rugby Matches.

Thanks for being a friend and team mate, and overall for those weightlifting and fitness tips!

Cherry is always a ladykiller

Women voted: Sexiest Butt in PTEB 2007

Day out, surprisingly.

We were planning to watch the Golden Compass and thinking that it's Monday, we thought it'll be atleast empty.

How should I know there is a cinema special $4 offer today?

Well anyway, the mall is packed with mostly teens. I managed to catch some people from PTEB such as Zimo, Cherry, Zaty, Shuif, Hanif, Yung Kit, Faizul, and Effy. Also met Keem and Combat (I realised his name actually comes from his passion for warfare, thus the army green clothing). What I'm most surprised is that I met Dee again today. Effy and Dee were schoolmates by the way.

Some familiar faces, Zed and Arif from SMR who finished their O levels and might be joining us next year in PTEB. Chew Yen from SMJA and SiKicap from Ugama (don't ask).

Today there was a flash flood but luckily that was informed by a passing friend. Some actually gets sunk you know (check Dibsy's blog and you'll see).
If you wanna know how big that flood is, remember the large deep drain under that bridge going into Gadong? It's so filled you can almost walk on it.

I only managed to take a few pics tho.
Sorry Dee, but your pic was accidently deleted *sigh*

Berakas Beach picnic with 5A and guests

Saturday, December 8, 2007
Went to the picnic Erma and El planned out. Its been awesome being with your old friends again.

With Teen, Waridi, and Shafiq, it's surprising.
More surprising is that we have Haziq and Zul from PTEB as well!
And not to mention my brother, Zani who came for the food.
